Zainab Arif is a licensed social worker and therapist, where she works with adolescents and adults experiencing anxiety, depression, trauma related concerns, emotional dysregulation, and major life transitions. Her therapeutic approach is grounded in cultural humility and a strong understanding of the brain and nervous system. Zainab supports clients in making sense of how past experiences show up in day to day thoughts, emotions, and relationships, with the goal of increasing insight, stability, and self trust.
Zainab has completed clinical training at The Menninger Clinic and in hospital based psychiatric settings, where she worked with individuals with acute and complex mental health needs. She integrates evidence based modalities such as DBT, Motivational Interviewing, and person centered therapy, alongside brain based interventions that promote regulation and long term change.
Zainab earned her Master of Social Work from the University of Houston and is especially committed to providing culturally affirming care for individuals and communities who have historically been underserved in mental health spaces.
